XBMC starts "zoomed in"
#1
Question
Its obviously zoomed in when started. The resolution of the screen is 1080p, but XBMC seems to think that the resolution is higher than that? This is with the resolution set to 1920x1080p in the screen settings in XBMC. IT shoul dbe the same!! Help please, im running in -fs mode. If i remove -fs mode, the windowed version seems twice the length of the native res of the screen.

Thanks,

RockNerd

i can confirm this in the latest release, it doesn't seem to remember the video calibration settings, very annoying having to reset them every time i use it.

Are you selecting desktop1920x1080?

I can confirm this, exact situation. This is from the newest executable, rev 13630. It is zoomed so far in fact that only 20%- 25% (of the very center) is viewable.

On a side note, it did not matter which resolution i selected in the settings, it was always zoomed in. Im running Vista x64.

Can't reproduce this zooming issue however the video calibration thingy is already fixed in svn.

Thanks for the reply Wiso. I dont know what else to do. I can barely get into the settings in this zoomed mode, to change the resolution.

I have the same problem, switching between interlace modes usually fixes the problems. You need to do this everytime you playback a video.

Consider this an edit to to post above:

The XMBC menu's are renderd perfectly, but when playing a video only 20% of the top left is visible. After switching through interlace modes the problem is fixed.
I calibrated and set up the correct resolution.

This is not related to my problem, my menus and everything thing else are zoomed in upon start of the software, in fullscreen or windowed.Oo

I have noticed that when i shut down xbmc from within in the console, the wallpaper on my desktop has shrunk. XBMC seems to be running at the correct resolution, while changing the desktop resolution to something lower? Anyone see anything weird in here?

It is somewhat comforting, knowing that i am not the only one stuck without my fav interface Big Grin What graphics are you using Dave? nay 3rd party software to manipulate the overscan of the screen?

I think tonight, i will do a complete uninstall/reinstall. After that, im out of ideas until a new release.

BTW, im running an EVGA 7150/630i mobo using the HDMI output.

I should never have upgraded Sad my previous version does the same thing as the new releaseNo
